The Artist Within
A Workshop with Dana AlRashid
Have you ever looked at an artist’s sketch and wished you could draw like them? Or felt discouraged that your drawings didn’t turn out the way you’d imagined they would?
The truth is, each one of us can draw. We just need to learn how.
In this workshop, you will learn effective techniques to draw better in just a short time, while unlocking the creativity in the right side of the brain to see the world around you in a different light. We will be drawing mainly with pencil and will take on a realistic approach to drawing.
The workshop has six sessions, each of which will be dedicated to a specific topic.
Session 1: Introduction to drawing, drawing activities for assessment, right brain activation exercises
Session 2: Contours
Session 3: Gestures and the importance of negative space
