Show up. Be inspired. Get connected.
I’m super excited about our upcoming events for 4 reasons:
1) The positive vibe: You have to experience a Startup Grind event to know what I mean. I don’t know what it is exactly, but it’s fun being around ambitious entrepreneurs connecting with one another and learning from a successful entrepreneur who’s generous with his time and knowledge.
This month’s Startup Grind event is with TV presenter Abdulwahab Al-Essa, and you’ll get to hear the story behind his success (on and off the air).
2) Turning ideas into reality: Most people have great ideas that float around in their heads and eventually recede into their memories. Some go through the trouble of building a product that ends up gathering dust. If you don’t have customers, you don’t really have a product. You have an ornament.
Social media is a powerful platform that allows you to turn your ideas into successful businesses. You can learn the do’s and don’t of social media with Fatima Malallah, social media strategist at Ooredoo.
3) Experimenting with new events: Have you ever attended a cofounder speed dating event? Me neither. But it sounds like loads of fun (and the outcome is hugely important for any startup).
Here at Sirdab Lab, we’re continuously experimenting and exploring. It’s kinda risky, but also fun. Why don’t you join in the fun, and you might end up with a cofounder for your startup.
4) Making users happy (and startups successful): OK, I should be a bit modest, but I have to be honest: I’m really excited about my own user experience (UX) workshop coming up at the end of the month. Not (just) because I’ll be teaching it, but because user experience design can make or break a startup.
I’ve seen several startups spend months on a design challenge that I (or my partner in design crime, Barrak Al-Babtain) were able to solve in less than half an hour. The best part is: UX design is learnable. You can develop the skills to solve design problems with a better approach.
The links to all our events (except the UX workshop) are below. Interested in the UX workshop? You’re gonna have to email us for more info.
See you soon.
